Innovation Point launches mobile app "Vocation"
08 June 2010
The dst group and optimus on 31 may launched a new mobile application that allows Portuguese students to conduct careers guidance tests and better understand their skills and interests wherever they are.
By answering a series of questions in the verbal, reasoning, numerical and diagrammatic tests, the "Vocation" helps you identify academic and vocational areas in which the user may have more interest.
The idea was born in Innovation Point, technology start-up of the DST group that developed all the software necessary for the proper functioning of the application during the past six months. The various issues that students have to respond and the respective results were created by SHL Portugal, a company specialized in assessment and development of people.
To raise awareness of the "Vocation," the DST group and Optimus will launch a campaign which started on the 31st of May and it is directed primarily to students of the third cycle of primary and secondary education.
Jo„o Matos, Director of Innovation Point, states that "although Vocation does not replace professional advice, this application may be an important tool for young people in a phase where they are often uncertain and haunted by the fear of making a wrong choice."
To this charge, the "Vocation" may also be useful to university students and recent graduates wishing to reflect on their career choices or even rethink their career project.
For now, the "Vocation" costs Ä 1.99 and can be downloaded from the website of Optimus.
Payment is made only once, and there is no kind of automated subscription.
